A trap utilizes two components for attracting insects: The lure and the trap itself. An effective lure is a specific odor, color and shape, depending on what insect you are attracting. Once you have lured the insect, the trap itself is caught by a sticky agent, drown in liquid or caught in a cage they can not find their way out of.
