If you have been gardening for a while, you may have hear of the phrase EO, or essential oil. These oils are just that: The concentrated extracts of an herb, created through the distillation process. It takes anywhere from two to five pounds of lavender plant material to make an ounce of essential oil.
This is not practical for the home gardener. You can make another wonderfully scented product from you home garden, called a hydrosol. When using essential oils, always use caution, for they are extremely concentrated.
