Lemon verbena is a clean, lemony scented herb, that is highly prized for its strong odor. The scent is more of a citronella type lemon, than a fruity one. Used for its insect repelling ability, lemon balm is also found in many teas, as its strong lemon flavor is extremely tasty in its dried state.
Used in calming tea blends, lemon verbena is well liked by young and old alike. It can mask a less flavorful medicinal herb.
Although, lemon verbena is a tender herb, grown mostly in tropical climates, it grows very well indoors.
