How to Water Herb Gardens Outside Your Hose’s Reach

Buckets Help Water Gardens and Prevent Runoff

By , About.com Guide

Many of us have herb gardens sprawling across our yards. They are not always easy or even accessible with our hoses. If you do not have built in watering in all of your garden areas, yet want to grow water loving herbs in that location, here is a quick tip.

Using a 5 gallon bucket, drill multiple small holes into the bottom. I suggest using a 1/8 drill bit. Now, when you fill the bucket, you can safely place it next to your plants that need extra water. The water will seep very slowly out of the bucket, watering completely and without any runoff. The perfect answer for keeping ALL your gardens watered.
